Latin origin name, Lattarico comes from "lacteus" that means milk, village of the "lattari" (milkmen).
Lattarico with Regina, one of the modern districts of the village, was one of the first properties in the Crati Valley held by the Normans in the XI century. It seems, by documentation of some old parochial birth registers, that Pope Innocenzo XII was born here.
The food is simple and genuine and its origins comes from ancient farm tradition. Central activity in harvesting and processing of mushrooms and chestnuts. This village is also famous for cotton texture and for the production of musical instruments.
