This village overlooks the Crati valley and has very ancient origins, as stated by a small bronze statue dated 500 B.C. representing a young girl with a crown. The village arises around its historic centre, dominated by the XIII century feudal castle. The castle, without towers or bastions, is built over a deep moat that was a natural defence against enemies invasions. The castle at present is closed for restoration works.
Rose keeps the traditional craftsman activity alive with metal and wood work. In particular, there is plenty of proof of wood works in the houses and in the churches.
